Da hell they doin over there

My reaction to the 'social' media site 'X'

i recently downloaded the app 'x' for non-personal reasons. I never used it before when it was twitter or at any point recently. i got sucked into the 'for you' timeline, shamefully for many hours. As i had not followed anyone etc etc, i think i was getting the most raw version of the algorithm as it tried to find what i liked. the level of insanity i witnessed through the phone screen is unparalleled by anything i have seen on social media before. there are no ads which is nice but it really means there is no relief from the madness. can honestly say that i have been slack jawed for the better part of today. there is an insane amount of racism, violence, porn, soccer, reality tv shite and anything else you can possibly imagine on there. videos of people getting shot, beaten, stabbed, dead children, ukraine footage, videos of riots/protests from all over the world, home invasions, car crashes, anti-immigration, pro-immigration, semites, anti-semites and so on. what i can say is that it is an incredibly balanced algorithm, for every blatant racist theres a completely opposite opinion three posts later. i do not think that its good for the brain whatsoever. there is a lot of enraged people out there operating on some very unique beliefs, on all sides, globally. the level of violence and vitriol on there is mind numbing, sadly addicting also. am baffled to be completely honest. pretty quickly deleted the app, could see many many hours of life being absorbed in there.

Very strange story on there which was the appearance of drones over new jersey, plenty of conspiracies around it. the video footage is very strange and nobody makes any claims as to what they are or anything. it is ominous in a way, can imagine it would spark a healthy amount of fear. emotionless swarms of 6 foot flying robots buzzing around your neighborhood, quite paranoia inducing one can imagine. i imagine if it goes on a bit longer, americans being as well armed as they are, there will be some drones getting blasted out of the sky. Hopefully it is aliens, that will be exciting.

in other news, there is not a lot happening here. i have been l a z y to say the least, snow is coming in more now and it is darker/colder, all the good stuff. went for a stroll through the town last night and stopped into a little whiskey bar and had a chat with some locals. Nice place, japanese whiskey is decent. during the week, really not a lot going on, little bit busier in the coming weeks in the lead up to christmas. will get some snow photos for you valued readers.
